As universities continue to go back, we look at the final week of September with a nostalgic fondness. Already we’ve had stunning album releases from Foo Fighters and The Killers and this week completes a great month of music with the release of Wolf Alice’s second studio record Visions Of A Life. Making a surprise return to music this week as well is pop’s most renowned diva Beyoncé, who lends her vocals to J Balvin’s track Mi Gente.

The Release Radar 22/09/17: The Killers, Morrissey, Wolf Alice and more

In the midst of the chaotic crisis that’s occurring across the Atlantic in the Caribbean, the US and Mexico, we often reflect on our fortunate geographical location and think how things could be very different were we to be in another place in the world. A band, who have suffered their own fair share of battles, both physically and mentally, are The Killers, the Las Vegas rock giants who return this week with a beautifully honest record in Wonderful Wonderful, an album which highlights the significant holes in the band’s relationships with each other as well as in their own lives.

The Music Radar UK’s Tracks of the Week

This week we are graced with a host of world dominating artists alongside some up and coming stars. Getting the chance to put rising artists alongside the big names is a wonderful opportunity. Whilst the industry’s big players have already had a host of big hits and thankfully are continuing to produce brilliant tracks, it’s refreshing to see some of music’s newer names rival them with the quality of new singles being produced each week. The Release Radar 08/09/17: Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters and more

There’s been an air of brilliant unpredictability amongst 2017’s music releases with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem amongst many others releasing new material branching into unexpected territories. This week continues to highlight the element of surprise as Sam Smith returns for the first time since 2015 with Too Good at Goodbyes.
