The Release Radar 22/09/17: The Killers, Morrissey, Wolf Alice and more

In the midst of the chaotic crisis that’s occurring across the Atlantic in the Caribbean, the US and Mexico, we often reflect on our fortunate geographical location and think how things could be very different were we to be in another place in the world. A band, who have suffered their own fair share of battles, both physically and mentally, are The Killers, the Las Vegas rock giants who return this week with a beautifully honest record in Wonderful Wonderful, an album which highlights the significant holes in the band’s relationships with each other as well as in their own lives.

Legendary alternative singer and former frontman for The Smiths, Morrissey returns for the first time since 2014 with new single Spend the Day in Bed. One of the UK’s most loved indie rock bands Wolf Alice release another song, Heavenward, ahead of next week’s second record. Indie rock favourites The Hunna release their first track of a potential new second album with Summer. One of rock’s most energetic and characteristic singer-songwriters, Barns Courtney, releases yet another single, this time called Champion.

Pop fanatics can scream in excitement as Miley Cyrus releases yet another single this week with Week Without You. It’s a big week for the Cyrus family as Miley’s younger sister Noah Cyrus continues building her solo career up with new track Again featuring XXXTENTACION. Former Disney Channel star Demi Lovato brings out Sexy Dirty Love whilst perhaps the week’s biggest collaboration comes from Macklemore and Kesha who bring out Good Old Days.

R&B and soul singer Emeli Sande releases another single from her forthcoming record, with Starlight taking centre stage. For Anne-Marie, the past year has been something of a dream soaring up the charts and this week sees her release her latest single Heavy. DJ Snake releases his latest single called A Different Way, which features Lauv on vocals. The sensational Maggie Rogers continues to show the world just why she is music’s next great thing on her latest single Split Stones. Another recent success has been singer Tom Grennan, who’s worked with the likes of Chase & Status, before bringing out a few successful early singles. This week Grennan returns with new track Royal Highness.

Electro pop duo Hurts release yet another new single from their upcoming album, called Hold on to Me. Gengahr return ahead of the release of their second record with track Carrion being released today. Bad Sounds, one of our favourite rising artists release a new single this week called Tomorrow whereas Tiggs Da Author, a singer tipped to become the next Pharrell Williams, releases new single Work It Out. Rhys Lewis brings great vocals on Wish I Was Sober whilst Irish band All Tvvins release Anything. The startling voice of Dermot Kennedy returns on Moments Passed whilst singer-songwriter RY X, also renowned for his beautiful vocals returns with Bad Love

Latest track Dum Dum from Kideko, Tinie Tempah and Becky G has the potential to grow whilst ALMA teams up with rap star French Montana on Phases. Rapper Wretch 32 teams up with Kojo Funds and Jahlani in Tell Me whilst MiC LOWRY release Don’t Tempt Me. Yung Lean continues to show everyone what he is capable of doing, with latest track Hunting My Own Skin.

Aside from The Killers’ Wonderful Wonderful, there are album releases from The Horrors with V, Van Morrison with Roll With The Punches and Enter Shikari with The Spark. Kygo releases the Stargazing EP whilst Off Bloom put out a new EP called Lover Like Me. The incredible Jordan Rakei releases Wallflower whilst rapper Macklemore releases Gemeni.
