To put it simply, what a week! The first week of February has seen a mammoth list of stunning new tracks and albums, which has left us at The Music Radar UK with the wonderful if lengthy task of reviewing a huge number of brilliant releases. Our reviews of this week has set two records. One for the largest amount of track reviews we have carried out in a couple of days with 22 tracks reviewed for you to enjoy and the other for being the first week in which we have decided to award two tracks with the title Track of the Week. We are now fully into 2017 and the first week of February has given us some huge comebacks. Legendary synth rock band Depeche Mode return with new track Where is the Revolution? The gigantic Imagine Dragons also return, with huge track Believer, the first track of their upcoming album.
The final week of January has given us some of the best tracks of the month. Given last week’s slight decline in the quality of new music, it’s great to report that this week has completely made up for it. Following last week’s slightly disappointing catalogue of new releases, we are treated to a huge selection of great new music. Major Lazer return with new track Run Up whilst James Blunt returns with his first track since 2014 with track Love Me Better.
An interesting third week of 2017 sees very few big name releases. At first glance, we thought that this weeks new releases were nowhere near that of the last two weeks but with closer inspection, it’s paved the way for many new artists to step into the limelight. After an incredible first two weeks of 2017, we arrive at a slight plateau this week in terms of big music releases. Nevertheless there are some standouts to note and not surprisingly, Donald Trump’s inauguration cued the release of many politically motivated songs.
